New York – October 07, 2026 -- Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will support stablecoin transfers on Solana, letting U.S. Galaxy users send cross-border payments in USDC starting the last week of October 2026, the Solana Foundation announced.
Feature launches across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices
The remittance tool is embedded directly into Samsung Wallet, the same interface users already use for cards, boarding passes and IDs. Integrated fiat on- and off-ramps will convert funds to and from local currency, with Solana's infrastructure running in the background. Additional international markets will follow, subject to local regulatory approval.
Solana processed $5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume in 2026
Stablecoin supply on Solana is up nearly 20% year over year, according to the Solana Foundation. PayPal and Western Union already use the network for stablecoin activity, and Samsung's integration extends that infrastructure to a mass-market consumer wallet.
Samsung positions the feature as a simplified alternative to crypto tools
Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics' Mobile eXperience Business, said the goal is to let Galaxy users move money internationally without managing separate crypto applications or wallets.
Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation, said the partnership moves stablecoins from a niche crypto product toward everyday payment infrastructure, citing Samsung's distribution scale as the catalyst for mainstream reach.
