Sidel's EvoDECO Next Cuts Label Surface by Up to 75%
London – October 14, 2026 -- Sidel has launched EvoDECO Next, a roll-fed labelling platform that its modelling shows can cut label surface by up to 75% against a conventional wraparound label, saving one high-volume line about €723,000 a year in raw material.
Partial labels cut BOPP use by 208.4 tonnes a year in Sidel's example
The 75% maximum applies to Sidel's illustrated 90° partial-label configuration. A 180° configuration reduces label surface by 50%.
In Sidel's worked example, a 61,000 bottles-per-hour line produces about 459 million bottles a year. Moving from a full wraparound label to a 90° partial label shrinks label area from 20,160 mm2 to 5,040 mm2 per bottle. That cuts BOPP consumption by 208.4 tonnes annually and associated CO2 emissions by 346 tonnes. Sidel says the CO2 and cost figures rest on its own modelling assumptions and may vary with product, material specification and operating conditions.
