NEW YORK – September 22, 2026 -- Zocdoc announced a platform expansion that makes healthcare providers bookable beyond Zocdoc.com through a single connection to its Care Access Network, which already includes Amazon Health AI, Gemini, Yelp, Healthgrades, Blue Shield of California and multiple search engines.
Patients now search for care across a growing number of fragmented channels
A new national Zocdoc survey found that 69% of patients who search for a new doctor check multiple places, from AI platforms and insurance directories to search engines and review sites. More than 1 in 3 patients have switched doctors because scheduling was too difficult, while 43% would consider switching to a provider that is easier to book.
Providers gain automatic reach through one existing connection
Previously, connecting to Zocdoc primarily made providers discoverable on Zocdoc.com and its app. Under the expansion, that same connection now extends providers' real-time availability across all current and future Care Access Network partners, removing the need to build or manage separate integrations for each new channel.
"Keeping up with every new place patients search for care is becoming an impossible task for providers. With Zocdoc, now they don't have to," said Richard Fine, Chief Business Officer at Zocdoc.
Any provider can join Zocdoc's network for free
There is no booking fee when patients search for a specific provider or book as an existing patient through Zocdoc. Providers pay a one-time booking fee only when Zocdoc helps a patient discover and book with them for the first time.
Practice Solutions targets friction on providers' own websites and phone lines
Zocdoc's survey also found that 1 in 3 patients would rather find a different provider than wait on hold for even a minute. The company's Practice Solutions suite, which includes branded Website Scheduling, Patient Communications, Intake & Insurance Verification, and the AI Phone Assistant Zo, brings real-time booking technology directly to providers' existing channels.
Practices using Zocdoc's upgraded website scheduling have seen website bookings increase by an average of 25-30%, according to the company, with advanced reporting showing which channels are driving appointment growth.
Schweiger Dermatology Group cites long-term reliance on the platform
"We've grown with Zocdoc for years. Now, as patients change how and where they look for care, Zocdoc is helping us grow with them," said Julie Gessin, Chief Operating Officer at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
