Lennox to Embed Everyday Electric VPP Savings in 1M+ Thermostats

Richardson, Texas – October 15, 2026 -- Lennox (NYSE: LII) will integrate Everyday Electric's savings features into its smart thermostats, giving more than 1 million installed units access to automated demand-response adjustments once the rollout starts in 2027.

Everyday Electric, formerly Renew Home, operates what it describes as the largest residential virtual power plant (VPP) in the U.S. The partnership links that network to Lennox's connected HVAC base. New smart thermostat buyers will also be eligible.

Thermostat adjustments target high-price and high-demand periods

Eligible customers can switch on features that make subtle, personalized temperature adjustments when energy prices or demand are high. The aim is to cut heating and cooling costs while keeping households comfortable. Customers can also earn utility rewards where available.

Branch Launches White-Label Earned Wage Access for Banks

Tampa – October 15, 2026 -- Branch has launched a white-label Flex earned wage access (EWA) model for banks and credit unions that carries no balance-sheet risk and requires no new underwriting, because Branch funds every advance.

The configuration lets financial institutions embed EWA inside their own banking apps under their own brand. Branch oversees compliance and handles integrations, calculations, disbursement and repayment through an API-first, bank-grade compliant integration.

Branch extends its Flex model from employers to financial institutions

The launch builds on the Flex model Branch introduced earlier this year, which made embedded EWA faster and lighter to deploy for employers. The same approach now targets banks and credit unions facing the multi-year timelines typical of core banking projects.

Austin – October 15, 2026 -- Oracle NetSuite launched NetSuite QuickStart, a free AI-first financial platform for early-stage technology startups in the United States, with setup that takes less than 10 minutes.

Founders can connect a bank account, create a first invoice and begin viewing financials within that window, according to the company. The platform skips the traditional implementation process in favor of AI-powered self-service setup.

QuickStart automates core finance functions with embedded AI agents

Embedded AI and teams of AI agents handle accounting, banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable and subscription management. The system imports, matches, categorizes and reconciles transactions from connected bank and credit card accounts.

Mapbox 3D Live Navigation Powers BMW Maps in Neue Klasse Cars

San Francisco – October 14, 2026 -- Mapbox's 3D Live Navigation feature now powers BMW Maps with driver assistance in BMW Group's Neue Klasse vehicles, in what the company calls a market first: lane-level navigation and live ADAS detections combined in a single map view.

The system shows turn-by-turn directions in context with the road, surrounding vehicles and 3D buildings. Mapbox says traditional in-car systems cannot integrate route guidance with information about the vehicle and its surroundings, forcing drivers to piece together data from separate displays.

BMW builds a custom Neue Klasse interface on the Mapbox Navigation SDK

The Mapbox Navigation SDK gave BMW Group full control to build a navigation experience for the Panoramic iDrive in Neue Klasse models. The vehicle's Central Display, Panoramic Vision Display and 3D Head-Up display present the information in the driver's field of view.

Thomson Reuters Adds 100-Country Research to CoCounsel Legal

Toronto – October 14, 2026 -- Thomson Reuters is rolling out the next generation of CoCounsel Legal to customers in more than 90 countries and territories through 2026. The upgrade adds a Multinational Profile that pulls legal content from more than 100 countries and territories into a single research workflow.

Multinational Profile keeps cross-border research inside one platform

Until now, lawyers researching a cross-border question had to leave CoCounsel Legal and reconcile information from several jurisdictions and sources. Thomson Reuters says the new profile removes that step. Teams can research legal requirements across countries, compare key differences, flag issues that may need local advice, and trace each finding to its underlying source.

Caliber launches OneView plain-English search for police RMS

North Little Rock – October 14, 2026 -- Caliber Public Safety has launched Caliber OneView, an add-on for Caliber Online RMS that lets officers search and cross-reference agency records with plain-English questions, cutting tasks such as monthly command reports from up to a week to an instant, built-in process.

OneView replaces separate screen searches with a single cross-referenced query

Law enforcement users currently search separate screens for people, vehicles, citations and incidents. OneView runs that cross-referencing automatically. An officer can, for example, find a subject using a physical description plus a pre-set tag such as a firearm on file, narrowing thousands of records and surfacing links between people, vehicles and addresses.

TRI Adds RiskIQ AI Agent to OPRA 26.2 RBQM Platform

Cambridge – – October 14, 2026 -- TRI has released OPRA 26.2, an update to its risk-based quality management (RBQM) platform that adds an AI agent, RiskIQ, to draft protocol risk assessments. The release is available from October 14, 2026.

RiskIQ drafts Critical-to-Quality assessments from uploaded protocols

RiskIQ sits in OPRA's Protocol Insights module. It analyzes an uploaded protocol and generates a first-draft assessment of Critical-to-Quality (CtQ) factors, risks and their relationships. It works from each organization's own CtQ types and risk categories rather than generic templates.

Risk managers can edit, accept or reject every suggestion before promoting the result into OPRA as the initial risk assessment. No AI-generated content enters a live study automatically. Every decision is audit-logged and exportable.

RiskIQ is also available as a standalone application that works with any RBQM platform.

Chainguard Launches Checks to Move CI Into AI Agent Dev Loops

Seattle – October 14, 2026 -- Chainguard has launched Chainguard Checks in Beta, a continuous verification engine that returns signed, trusted test results to developers and AI agents in seconds, before code reaches a pull request.

The product targets a bottleneck created by agentic development. Traditional CI was built for developers who push code a few times a day, while agents iterate constantly. Every change lands in the same queue, and results often return after the agent has lost its working context. Teams also pay repeatedly for the same setup work.

Chainguard Checks suspends agent sessions during test runs to halt compute use

Chainguard Checks works with the newly launched Chainguard Workspaces. An agent session suspends while checks execute, which stops compute consumption. It then resumes in seconds, with structured failure logs injected directly into its context so it can iterate until tests pass.

BCG: Corporate and Investment Banking Revenue to Hit $1.4T by 2030

Boston – October 14, 2026 -- Corporate and investment banking (CIB) revenues, including nonbank financial institutions (NBFIs), are on track to reach a record $1.1 trillion in 2026, up more than 7% from 2025, according to Boston Consulting Group's 2026 Corporate and Investment Banking Report, "A Golden Window for Growth." BCG projects the total revenue pool will reach about $1.4 trillion by 2030, growing roughly 5% a year. 2026 will be the sixth consecutive year of growth.

The report, based on BCG Expand data and BCG analysis, argues that record earnings give CIB leaders a limited window to build the capabilities needed for the next growth phase. Banks are beginning to pivot from product-led to client- and platform-led models.
